Having a good daily skin care routine is very important to the health of your skin. It is an essential step towards achieving that youthful and glowing skin. A skin care routine can be done twice a day, once in the morning and at night.

Devising your personal skin care routine will depend on your skin type and skin problems. It is important to know your skin type before using any skin care product.

For normal skin care, start your routine by washing with a gentle cleanser. You can use an alcohol-free toner if desired. Use a best moisturiser or best facial moisturizer in the day and night. Apply sunscreen daily for sun protection. Exfoliating once or twice a week is also recommended.

For dry skin, wash your face with a cleansing cream or non-soap cleanser once or twice a day. Apply a best moisturiser or a dry skin lotion twice a day. Use a high-factor sunscreen daily that is appropriate for dry skin. Be cautious not to exfoliate all the time because scrubbing can cause more drying.

For oily skin, cleanse the face twice a day with an oil-free product. Use a toner after wash. A light weight moisturiser is applied after toning. Apply a non-greasy sunscreen daily and apply for frequently when under the sun. Do not exfoliate if the skin is prone to acne. Steaming the face is also recommended once or twice a week.

For combination skin, use non-soap cleanser twice a day. Apply toner or astringent only on oily areas of the face. It is also important to use best moisturiser. Don’t forget to protect the skin from the sun by putting on sunscreen. You can scrub once or twice a week.

A good facial skin care routine does not need to be complicated. It should be as simple as possible and should not take more than 30 minutes a day.

These simplified skin care routine covers the things that your skin needs to have from cleansing to anti-aging. Step 1: Cleansing. The start of every skin care routine is cleansing the skin twice a day. This can be done in the morning and in the evening. Cleanse your skin with the use of a gentle and fragrance-free cleanser or a mild soap. Use your hands in lathering the soap or cleanser and do not use a washcloth because it can be rough for the skin. Choose a cleanser that does not dry the skin since the skin needs some natural oils.

Step 4: Scrub/Exfoliate. Exfoliating removes dead skin cells which make your skin smooth beneath the surface. However, do not exfoliate everyday because it will only make your skin drier. This can be done once or twice a week. Use a product that is safe and is not harsh because too much sloughing makes your skin sensitive when under the sun.

Step 5: Anti-aging. This step is necessary in protecting the skin from the sun’s harmful rays. Sun exposure makes your skin look old and can cause premature aging. Use sun block or sunscreen with a minimum of SPF 30 for every day use. If you are staying outdoors most of the time, use a product with higher SPF and reapply the sunscreen constantly.
